Optus Stadium isn’t just a venue — it's one of Western Australia’s most celebrated landmarks, drawing thousands of visitors for major events, concerts, and sporting spectacles. With that comes a serious responsibility to safeguard patrons and protect high-risk pedestrian zones from emerging security threats.
As part of a recent review and upgrade of its perimeter protection infrastructure, Optus Stadium engaged Sec-Pro to strengthen its hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) measures along key public access points.
Protecting the Heart of Perth’s Entertainment District
One particular area identified as vulnerable was the major thoroughfare connecting the Crown Towers precinct to the stadium. This walkway sees massive foot traffic on event days and sits dangerously close to live vehicle routes — a potential risk scenario due to both accessibility and the possibility of high-speed vehicle approach.
To mitigate this, Sec-Pro supplied and installed a series of PAS68-rated hostile vehicle mitigation bollards — among the most trusted standards in international vehicle impact protection. Engineered to stop and deter unauthorised vehicle entry, these bollards offer passive, unobtrusive protection while integrating seamlessly with the site’s aesthetic and functional needs.
Real Risks Require Real Security
At Sec-Pro, we recognise that public safety isn’t about luck — it’s about foresight, planning, and smart infrastructure. Working alongside the stadium team, we delivered a solution that strengthens pedestrian safety without interrupting the open, inviting environment the site is known for.
From initial assessment to final installation, our commitment to quality, compliance, and customer support remains the same: secure what matters most, and do it better than the standard demands.
